The Goddess of Garbage put together this entire studio apartment from her vast garbage collection using Styrofoam for decorative wall pieces and wine racks, heavy duty covered boxes for end tables and slipcovered chairs and old lamps for the sitting area. All re-use. Cost: Almost free!
Living Room/Dining Area/Desk
Painted radiators (from a scavenger company) and lacquered lumber (scraps from a lumber company) transform into a functional, attractive desk. Pieces of metal screwed together become bookcases and a carpet remnant serves as a great area rug. Wheel rims are used for stools or as a coffee table. An old garbage can that was painted black transforms into a dining table. The mirror framed in discarded wood and covered with Asian newspaper and found artifacts, becomes the centerpiece of the living room.
