My personal altered egg carton takes the title from the movie, “The Egg & I.” This was a delightful American romantic comedy, based on the book of the same name written by Betty MacDonald. The movie was produced in 1947 and starred Collette Colbert and Fred MacMurray. It was a story about a World War II veteran who comes home and decides to move from the city to the country for a farmer’s life.
I often wanted to alter an egg carton for a project. I just never got around to it. However, when our craft club suggested we work on an altered egg carton, my opportunity had arrived, I had collected enough small stuff to fill up many cartons. Somehow, I immediately thought of the book and movie of long ago,- “The Egg & I.”
And that’s why you see the egg proudly sitting in one of the slots sharing space with many of my small treasures.
