Paint Palette - before Paint Palette - After

OK, I agree, this is possibly a zany project. However, one of our craft club members proposed a challenge for us. What could we do to recycle this plastic paint palette for another use?

Being all creative crafters, we immediately took the challenge. Here is my creation. You judge for yourself.

MATERIALS NEEDED

  • Plastic paint palette
  • Spray paint: black matte and glossy
  • Black cord
  • White cardboard
  • Black stick -on letters
  • 1 straw and 2 beads
  • Decorative buttons: 5 small,1 medium
  • Nippers
  • White glue
  • Glue gun

HERE’S HOW

  • Wash and clean paint palette
  • Spray palette, straw, and beads matte black for primer and glossy for finish coat
  • Let dry throughly between coats
  • Glue black cord to fit palette design for hanging
  • Glue straw and beads in place
  • Cut white cardboard into oval shapes
  • Stick black letters on oval shapes
  • Glue oval shapes into spaces to spell out the message
  • Using nippers, snip backs of buttons to make them flat
  • Glue small buttons into selected oval spaces and the medium button in the middle of straw
  • Hang it up!
