Wow… summer is really over, but here comes Autumn, one of my favorite seasons!
You may have noticed the subtle signs, the leaves starting to turn with a little red, maybe some yellow and orange making their annual, colorful appearances. The weather is starting to cool down, depending on where you live, welcoming a crisp autumn air. An abundance of just picked juicy apples are making their way to the market and you may have even seen some pumpkins peeking through the green in a local patch. Autumn is also my favorite time of year for a nature hike. The trails are full of treasures from Mother Nature to remind us that the simple things in life are free.
Next time you are out on a trail, pick up some of the bounty: rocks; feathers; twigs; leaves and flowers that can be dried; pine cones; nuts and pods. You may even encounter an abandoned bird’s nest.
Arrange your finds on a decorative board and cover with a Lucite box. A beautiful display of Fall colors and flora to appreciate year around in your home or office or use as a seasonal, artistic design accessory.
